Story of this Photo

This is the photo of a 1300 year old temple in Badami. It is known as the Lower Shivalaya. It was built around 634AD during the early era of Chalukya dynasty of Northern Karnataka. The temple is indeed antique, but what interested me is the backdrop. In the background you can see the Badami town and its modern settlements. Its like two slices of time exist in a single frame. The ancient temple stands there as a symbol of how time passes so fast. Kings have come and gone. They were great, they had glorious achievements. But they had to clear the stage as soon as their time finished. There will always be something new. Looking at how new world has replaced everything that belong to old, one thing was clear. Change is the only constant thing in the world!
